Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is seeking a Warehouse Operative for their Coalville site on a night shift (Mon-Fri, 21:00–05:30). The role involves forklift operation, loading/unloading, stock handling, and using WMS systems to ensure accurate picking and dispatch.

Full training provided for counterbalance, PPT and VNA trucks. You will work in a fast-paced warehouse environment, maintaining safety and quality standards, completing paperwork, and contributing to continuous improvement within a growing

Qualifications

• Operating Counterbalance, PPT & VNA trucks training provided.
• Previous experience in a warehouse environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail is essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift trucks where required to support warehouse operations (full training provided).
• Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently, including manual handling of caged goods and occasional palletised stock.
• Use warehouse management systems and scanners to receive, locate, replenish and dispatch stock accurately, ensuring orders are picked, sorted and prepared to a high standard.
• Replenish and consolidate stock, assembling cages and storing goods safely within racking locations.
• Assist with warehouse duties including pallet breakdown, pallet wrapping, labeling and general order preparation.
• Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised working environment and ensure equipment is used responsibly.
• Complete all relevant paperwork and report defects or issues promptly to support continuous improvement.

Shift

Monday to Friday, 21:00hrs - 05:30hrs

Competitive Salary

£30,700 per annum, based on a 40-hour working week, plus excellent overtime opportunities. Any hours worked over 40 per week are paid at

£18.45 per hour, with additional shifts paid at

£18.45 per hour on Saturdays and

£22.14 per hour on Sundays. Premium rates of

£29.52 per hour apply on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklift trucks where required to support warehouse operations (full training provided).
• Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently, including the manual handling of caged goods and occasional palletised stock, in line with company procedures and health and safety standards.
• Use warehouse management systems and scanners to receive, locate, replenish and dispatch stock accurately, ensuring customer orders are picked, sorted and prepared to a high standard.
• Replenish and consolidate stock as required, assembling cages and ensuring goods are stored safely within racking locations.
• Assist with warehouse duties including pallet breakdown, pallet wrapping, labelling and general order preparation.

• Complete all relevant paperwork and warehouse documentation accurately, reporting any defects, damages or operational issues promptly to support continuous improvement.

Required Experience

• Experience operating Counterbalance, PPT & VNA trucks is preferred but not essential as training can be provided.
• Previous experience of working within a warehouse environment.
• Good communication and team working skills.
• Attention to detail is essential.
• Ability to work within a fast-paced environment.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
