Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd. is hiring a Warehouse Operative for our Coalville site. You will support warehouse operations, operate forklifts, receive and dispatch stock, and help with packing and order preparation.

We offer a 40-hour week with overtime opportunities, monthly training, and a range of benefits. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and be able to work night shifts from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Forklift experience is preferred; training provided.
• Experience in warehouse operations is beneficial.
• Good communication and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift trucks where required to support warehouse operations.
• Load and unload vehicles safely; manual handling of stock as needed.
• Use scanners to receive, locate, replenish and dispatch stock accurately.
• Replenish and consolidate stock and assemble cages in racking locations.
• Assist with pallet breakdown, wrapping, labeling and order prep.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and report issues promptly.
• Complete paperwork and warehouse documentation accurately.

Warehouse Operative

Location: Coalville

Shift: Monday to Friday, 21:00hrs - 05:30hrs

Competitive Salary

£30,700 per annum, based on a 40-hour working week, plus excellent overtime opportunities. Any hours worked over 40 per week are paid at £18.45 per hour, with additional shifts paid at £18.45 per hour on Saturdays and £22.14 per hour on Sundays. Premium rates of £29.52 per hour apply on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

Job Description

Are you passionate about Warehouse and Logistics and looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic logistics company? We are currently seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our team at our Coalville site.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklift trucks where required to support warehouse operations (full training provided).
• Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently, including the manual handling of caged goods and occasional palletised stock, in line with company procedures and health and safety standards.
• Use warehouse management systems and scanners to receive, locate, replenish and dispatch stock accurately, ensuring customer orders are picked, sorted and prepared to a high standard.
• Replenish and consolidate stock as required, assembling cages and ensuring goods are stored safely within racking locations.
• Assist with warehouse duties including pallet breakdown, pallet wrapping, labelling and general order preparation.
• Maintain a clean, safe and well‑organised working environment, ensuring all warehouse equipment is used responsibly and kept in good working order.
• Complete all relevant paperwork and warehouse documentation accurately, reporting any defects, damages or operational issues promptly to support continuous improvement.

Required Experience

• Experience operating Counterbalance, PPT & VNA trucks is preferred but not essential as training can be provided.
• Previous experience of working within a warehouse environment.
• Good communication and team working skills.
• Attention to detail is essential.
• Ability to work within a fast‑paced environment.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
