Gregory Distribution Ltd in North Tawton is seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our logistics team. You will operate Counterbalance and Reach trucks, pick and dispatch goods, and help maintain accurate stock records.

Responsibilities

• Operate Counterbalance and Reach trucks to support warehouse operations.

• Replenish stock and consolidate inventory for demand readiness.
• Assist with pallet wrapping, labeling, and prep for shipment.
• Keep workspace clean and ensure equipment is safe and well-maintained.
• Complete paperwork and follow warehouse procedures; report issues promptly.

Job Description

Are you passionate about warehousing and looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic logistics company? We are currently seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our team at the North Tawton site. In this role, you will be using Counterbalance and Reach trucks to pick and dispatch goods.

Key Responsibilities

• Use of Counterbalance and Reach trucks to support warehouse operations (training will be provided).
• Operate warehouse systems and handheld scanners to accurately receive, locate, pick, and dispatch goods. You'll play a key role in ensuring our customers get the right products, on time.
• Handle all goods with care and precision, maintaining high standards of quality and safety throughout the process.
• Replenish stock and consolidate inventory to keep our warehouse organised and ready for demand.
• Support general warehouse tasks, including pallet wrapping, labelling, and preparing goods for shipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised workspace, ensuring all equipment is used responsibly and kept in good working order.
• Complete essential paperwork and follow warehouse procedures, reporting any issues or defects promptly to help us continuously improve.

Requirements

• A current Counterbalance Forklift Licence would be advantageous; however, this is not essential as full training can be provided.
• Excellent communication and teamworking skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and share information effectively with colleagues.
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high levels of accuracy across all aspects of the role.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities while maintaining productivity.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills, enabling you to accurately complete documentation, follow instructions, and manage stock records.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to use your own initiative and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
