Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd. is recruiting for a casual warehouse role based at Cullompton with flexibility to support North Tawton and Heathfield depots.

You will operate forklifts with proper training, use scanners, handle goods with care, and keep a clean, safe warehouse while meeting packing and shipping deadlines. Applicants must have a valid UK driving licence; forklift licence is desirable but not essential as training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate Counterbalance, Reach and Pivot Trucks to support warehouse operations.
• Use handheld scanners and warehouse systems to receive, locate, pick and dispatch goods.
• Maintain quality and safety standards throughout the process.
• Replenish stock and consolidate inventory for demand.
• Assist with packing, labelling and preparing goods for shipment.
• Keep the workspace clean, safe and well-organised and report defects promptly.

Key Responsibilities

• Use of Counterbalance, Reach and Pivot Trucks to support warehouse operations (training will be provided).
• Operate warehouse systems and handheld scanners to accurately receive, locate, pick, and dispatch goods. You'll play a key role in ensuring our customers get the right products, on time.
• Handle all goods with care and precision, maintaining high standards of quality and safety throughout the process.
• Replenish stock and consolidate inventory to keep our warehouse organised and ready for demand.
• Support general warehouse tasks, including pallet wrapping, labelling, and preparing goods for shipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised workspace, ensuring all equipment is used responsibly and kept in good working order.
• Complete essential paperwork and follow warehouse procedures, reporting any issues or defects promptly to help us continuously improve.

Requirements

• Must hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel between sites as required.
• Hold at least 1 current forklift licence of the above FLT Trucks used within our Warehouse operations is desirable but not essential (training will be provided).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills - You'll be working closely with others, so being able to share information clearly and collaborate effectively is essential.
• Exceptional attention to detail - Accuracy matters in every part of the process, from picking and packing to paperwork.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment - You'll be on your feet and busy, so energy and adaptability are key.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills - You'll need to read instructions, complete documentation, and handle stock counts confidently.
• Self-motivated and proactive - Whether working independently or as part of a team, you'll take initiative and get the job done.
