Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is seeking a Warehouse Operative for its Coalville site. Shift: Monday to Friday, 06:00–14:30. Competitive salary £27,580 per annum based on a 40-hour week, with overtime opportunities.

Overtime rates: £16.58/hr (Saturdays £16.58/hr, Sundays £19.89/hr). Premium rates £26.52/hr on Christmas/Boxing Day/New Year’s Day. The role involves operating forklifts, loading/unloading, stock handling, and using WMS/scanners to ensure accurate picking and dispatch.

Qualifications

• Experience operating Counterbalance trucks is preferred but training can be provided.
• Experience in a warehouse environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail is essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift trucks to support warehouse operations (training provided).
• Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently, handling stock per procedures.
• Use warehouse systems and scanners to receive, locate, replenish and dispatch stock accurately.
• Replenish and consolidate stock, assemble cages and store goods safely in racking.
• Assist with pallet breakdown, wrapping, labeling and general order prep.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised working environment.
• Complete relevant paperwork and warehouse documentation, report defects or issues.

£16.58 per hour, with additional shifts paid at

£16.58 per hour on Saturdays and

Job Description: Are you passionate about Warehouse and Logistics and looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic logistics company? We are currently seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our team at our Coalville site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate forklift trucks where required to support warehouse operations (full training provided).
• Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently, including the manual handling of caged goods and occasional palletised stock, in line with company procedures and health and safety standards.
• Use warehouse management systems and scanners to receive, locate, replenish and dispatch stock accurately, ensuring customer orders are picked, sorted and prepared to a high standard.
• Replenish and consolidate stock as required, assembling cages and ensuring goods are stored safely within racking locations.
• Assist with warehouse duties including pallet breakdown, pallet wrapping, labelling and general order preparation.
• Maintain a clean, safe and well‑organised working environment, ensuring all warehouse equipment is used responsibly and kept in good working order.
• Complete all relevant paperwork and warehouse documentation accurately, reporting any defects, damages or operational issues promptly to support continuous improvement.

Required Experience:

• Experience operating Counterbalance, PPT & VNA trucks is preferred but not essential as training can be provided.
• Previous experience of working within a warehouse environment.
• Good communication and team working skills.
• Attention to detail is essential.
• Ability to work within a fast‑paced environment.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
