Job summary

Prinova in Aylesford, Kent is hiring a Warehouse Operative for the 2pm–10pm shift, Monday to Friday. You will keep the warehouse tidy, handle daily dispatches, incoming goods, and production picking, while following health and safety procedures under the Warehouse Supervisor.

This role involves manual handling, operating warehouse equipment (reach and counterbalance trucks, pallet trucks), and supporting internal customers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience using warehouse equipment such as reach and counterbalance trucks up to 1600kg.
• Experience in a warehouse environment is essential.
• Good communication, numeracy, and attention to detail are required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
• Ability to lift up to 25kg and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain tidiness in the warehouse and yard and remove hazards.
• Handle daily dispatch, incoming goods, finished goods prep, and production picking.
• Assist with production daily requirements and bulk/part goods prep.
• Operate FLT checks and report defects to the supervisor.
• Liaise with Customer Support and transport providers to ensure smooth dispatch.

What is a Warehouse Operative role at Prinova?

This role is responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day operation of the warehouse is carried out according to procedures and to work in accordance with health and safety as outlined by the site directive. The role also involves providing support to all internal customers under the supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor, to aid the smooth running of the department. Please note that this role does involve manual handling.

What to expect?

• Maintain a high level of tidiness in the WH area and WH Yard, and remove any hazards or obstructions according to procedure.
• Complete daily requirements, including: Daily dispatch, incoming goods, finished goods prep, and production picking.
• Assist with production daily requirements.
• Complete any preparation of bulk and part goods for production.
• Follow instructions as requested by the WH Supervisor & Team Leader.
• Ensure daily FLT checks are complete and documented, and report any defects to the supervisor immediately.
• Ensure all other Warehouse checks are completed as per the rota.
• Arrange for any production waste to be disposed of.
• Assist with the requirements of the sampling room.
• Liaise with Customer Support and outside transport providers to ensure the smooth dispatch of customers’ orders.
• Any other reasonable task as requested by the Warehouse Supervisor, Team Leader and Production Supervisor.
• Work safely and follow all safety requirements.

Does this sound like you?

• Previous Experience using Warehouse equipment: Reach and counterbalance trucks up to 1600Kg, pallet trucks
• Relevant experience within a warehouse environment
• Good communication skills
• Excellent level of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions
• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25KG) and work on the feet for extended periods
• Understanding of safety protocols and willingness to follow company policies to ensure a safe working environment
• Ability to efficiently prioritise tasks to meet deadlines
• Ability to learn and operate an in-house computer system
• Team player, able to work as part of a team, providing help and support to others both within the department and the organisation as a whole
• Comfortable with lone-working
