Job summary

Great Bear is seeking an Operations Controller to join our Chorley site on a full-time permanent basis. You will support day-to-day warehouse activities, ensuring inbound and outbound schedules run efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities include managing the outbound schedule, issuing staff instructions, maintaining paperwork accuracy, and acting as the main contact for drivers. You will work with Shift Managers to minimise disruptions and contribute to a cohesive operations team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a fast-paced role.
• Ability to prioritise work based on scheduling and resources.
• PC literate in Word, Excel and Outlook with attention to detail.
• Team player who can also use own initiative.
• Demonstrable knowledge of on-site systems.
• Experience and good working knowledge of Autostore and RF kit.
• Strong communication with courteous, professional attitude.
• Excellent time management and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Manage outbound schedule to meet collection and delivery times.
• Issue instructions to staff to ensure smooth inbound/outbound flow.
• Maintain accurate paperwork for outbound vehicles.
• Be the first point of contact for drivers on site.
• Communicate issues to Shift Managers promptly to minimise disruption.
• Collaborate with operations team and propose efficiency improvements.
• Maintain good liaison with transport providers to prevent delays.
• Provide a thorough handover to the next shift.
