Job summary

Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is seeking an Operations Controller at our Sherburn site on a full-time permanent basis. Working hours are 3 on 3 off nights from 18:00 to 06:00, with a salary of £29,183 per annum plus a £2,000 night allowance.

The role supports day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring inbound receipts and outbound loads are scheduled efficiently. You will lead the outbound schedule, issue instructions, manage paperwork, and liaise with drivers and transport providers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within a similar fast-paced role.
• Ability to prioritise work based on scheduling and available resources.
• PC literate in Word, Excel and Outlook with a high level of attention to detail.
• Must be a team player capable of working on your own initiative.
• In-depth knowledge of on-site systems.
• Experience with Autostore and RF kit.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently managing the outbound schedule to ensure collection and delivery times are met.
• Issuing instructions to designated staff to maintain a smooth flow of inbound and outbound work.
• Controlling paperwork for outbound vehicles with 100% accuracy.
• Being the initial point of contact for all drivers arriving on site.
• Communicating issues to Shift Managers to minimise disruption to the schedule.
• Participating as an active member of the operations team and suggesting improvements.
• Maintaining good communication with transport providers to avoid late collections and delivery failures.
• Producing a thorough handover to the next shift.
