Job summary

Gear4music is seeking a Warehouse Maintenance Engineer to maintain, repair and improve a wide range of warehouse systems and equipment in a busy distribution environment.

You will work with Operations and Health & Safety teams to ensure safe, compliant and efficient operations, focusing on reducing downtime and supporting high-volume throughput. This role suits a practical, proactive engineer who enjoys problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within a warehouse, distribution or industrial environment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements in an operational setting.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on warehouse equipment and facilities.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
• Support the maintenance of automated systems including conveyors, goods-to-person retrieval systems, and packing systems.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety requirements and safe systems of work.
• Support contractor management and oversee third-party maintenance activities where required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs.
• Identify opportunities for equipment improvements and preventative maintenance.
• Support site compliance with statutory inspections and safety checks.
• Respond to breakdowns in a timely and effective manner.
