Job summary

STARK Building Materials UK is recruiting a Warehouse & Distribution Supervisor for Wakefield. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:30pm, leading a small team and coordinating deliveries, stock movements and customer orders.

You will ensure safe loading, accurate stock management, and regular Health & Safety checks while working closely with drivers and the branch team to resolve issues and keep operations running smoothly. Competitive salary and benefits accompany the role.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a small warehouse and distribution team, helping to organise workloads and keep the operation running smoothly.
• Be hands-on in the warehouse and yard, supporting the team with picking, stock movements, loading and unloading.
• Select and prepare customer deliveries accurately, ensuring the right products are ready to go at the right time.
• Load vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring orders are secure and ready for delivery.
• Receive incoming deliveries and put stock away safely and accurately.
• Carry out regular branch Health & Safety checks and help ensure the warehouse and yard meet company standards.
• Keep the warehouse and yard clean, organised and safe for colleagues, drivers and customers.
• Work closely with drivers and the wider branch team to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues.
• Deal directly with customers, providing a helpful and professional service and responding to queries.
• Support the Branch Manager with the day-to-day running of the operation and identify opportunities to improve processes.
• Lead by example, creating a positive team environment and making sure company procedures are followed.

We are recruiting for a Warehouse & Distribution Supervisor to join our JPS branch in Wakefield (WF7 6HX).

This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:30pm

This is a hands-on supervisory role, leading a small team and supporting the day-to-day warehouse and distribution operation. What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, logistics or branch environment.
• Experience of supervising, coordinating or leading a small team.
• A hands-on approach and willingness to get involved in the day-to-day operation.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety within a warehouse, yard or distribution environment.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and keep deliveries on track.
• Good communication skills and the confidence to deal directly with customers, drivers and colleagues.
• A reliable and practical approach, with a focus on getting things done safely and efficiently.
• Experience within construction materials, builders’ merchanting or a similar environment would be beneficial, but is not essential.
