Job summary

Cygnet Bury Forestwood in Greater Manchester is seeking a professional Ward Manager to lead, inspire and oversee the delivery of the very best care. You’ll work 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 8am - 4:30pm, at Cygnet Bury Forestwood, which offers CAMHS Tier 4 PICU and related wards with a defined treatment pathway.

Qualifications

• Experience in an in-patient mental health setting.
• Familiar with the Mental Health Act and current nursing practices.

• Maintain a monitoring system for nursing practice and staff registration.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and adherence to hospital policies.

We are looking for a professional, confident Ward Managerwho can lead, inspire & oversee the delivery of the very best care.

You’ll be working 40 hours a week(Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30pm)at Cygnet Bury Forestwood.

Cygnet Bury Forestwood offers CAMHS Tier 4 PICU, General Acute and Low Secure services across four wards which provide a defined treatment pathway from admission through to intervention and discharge including rapid assessment and treatment.

Each service user has a bedroom with en suite facilities and a range of communal spaces including a gym, laundry, occupational therapy kitchen, therapy garden and woodland walkways down to the Elton Reservoir.

Your day-to-day:

• Provide suggestions, proposals & recommendations to the Hospital Manager aimed at the continued development of the ward.
• Contribute & participate in planned visits to the ward by professional visitors
• Initiate & maintain a monitoring system in relation to professional nursing practice at unit level, including pin numbers & the current registration of all qualified staff
• Ensure that the evaluation of service delivery is user (i.e. patient, carer & family) based
• Advise non-clinical staff within the hospital on management of patients with mental illness.
• Ensure patients' rights to confidentiality are respected & that Cygnet Health Care & professional policies are adhered to.

You are

• Committed to delivering improvement strategies across all aspects of clinical service provision
• Familiar with an in-patient setting
• Experienced in managing change, leadership initiatives, motivating & developing others
• Open, compassionate, honest & resilient
• Capable of undertaking audits, developing, following-up & ensuring completion of action plans
• Well-informed of the Mental Health Act & the latest nursing practices
• Focused on patient recovery to monitor, manage & reduce risk.
