Job summary

Cygnet Bury Forestwood in the United Kingdom is seeking a professional Ward Manager to lead and oversee the delivery of high-quality care across CAMHS Tier 4 PICU, General Acute and Low Secure services. You will work 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm.

The role requires strong leadership, in-patient experience, and the ability to drive improvement, audits and staff development while safeguarding patient rights and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Experience in an in-patient ward setting.
• Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and relevant nursing practices.
• Ability to lead, develop and motivate staff while maintaining patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide suggestions and recommendations to improve ward development.
• Participate in planned visits to the ward by professional visitors.
• Initiate and maintain monitoring of professional nursing practice at unit level.
• Ensure evaluation of service delivery is patient- and family-centred.
• Advise non-clinical staff on management of patients with mental illness.
• Ensure patients' rights to confidentiality are respected and policies followed.

We are looking for a professional, confident Ward Manager who can lead, inspire & oversee the delivery of the very best care.

You’ll be working 40 hours a week (Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30pm) at Cygnet Bury Forestwood.

Cygnet Bury Forestwood offers CAMHS Tier 4 PICU, General Acute and Low Secure services across four wards which provide a defined treatment pathway from admission through to intervention and discharge including rapid assessment and treatment.

Each service user has a bedroom with en suite facilities and a range of communal spaces including a gym, laundry, occupational therapy kitchen, therapy garden and woodland walkways down to the Elton Reservoir.

Your day-to-day:

• Provide suggestions, proposals & recommendations to the Hospital Manager aimed at the continued development of the ward.
• Contribute & participate in planned visits to the ward by professional visitors
• Initiate & maintain a monitoring system in relation to professional nursing practice at unit level, including pin numbers & the current registration of all qualified staff
• Ensure that the evaluation of service delivery is patient (i.e. patient, carer & family) based
• Advise non-clinical staff within the hospital on management of patients with mental illness.
• Ensure patients' rights to confidentiality are respected & that Cygnet Health Care & professional policies are adhered to.
