Job summary

CYGNET Bury Forestwood is seeking a professional Ward Manager to lead and oversee the delivery of high-quality inpatient care across CAMHS Tier 4 PICU, General Acute and Low Secure wards. You will work Monday to Friday, 40 hours, 8am to 4:30pm, within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include developing care delivery, auditing nursing practice, ensuring patient confidentiality, and guiding non-clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Commitment to delivering high quality inpatient care.
• Experience in an in-patient setting and managing change.
• Knowledge of patient safety, confidentiality and nursing standards.
• Understanding of Mental Health Act and current nursing practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the ward to ensure delivery of safe, patient-centered care.
• Monitor and develop professional nursing practice and staff registration.
• Support hospital managers with improvement initiatives and policy adherence.
• Ensure patient, carer and family perspectives are incorporated into care planning.

Be a part of it.We are looking for a professional, confident Ward Manager who can lead, inspire & oversee the delivery of the very best care.You’ll be working 40 hours a week (Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30pm) at Cygnet Bury Forestwood.Cygnet Bury Forestwood offers CAMHS Tier 4 PICU, General Acute and Low Secure services across four wards which provide a defined treatment pathway from admission through to intervention and discharge including rapid assessment and treatment.Each service user has a bedroom with en suite facilities and a range of communal spaces including a gym, laundry, occupational therapy kitchen, therapy garden and woodland walkways down to the Elton Reservoir.Your day-to-day:• Provide suggestions, proposals & recommendations to the Hospital Manager aimed at the continued development of the ward.• Contribute & participate in planned visits to the ward by professional visitors• Initiate & maintain a monitoring system in relation to professional nursing practice at unit level, including pin numbers & the current registration of all qualified staff• Ensure that the evaluation of service delivery is user (i.e. patient, carer & family) based• Advise non-clinical staff within the hospital on management of patients with mental illness.• Ensure patients’ rights to confidentiality are respected & that Cygnet Health Care & professional policies are adhered to.You are…• Committed to delivering improvement strategies across all aspects of clinical service provision• Familiar with an in-patient setting• Experienced in managing change, leadership initiatives, motivating & developing others• Open, compassionate, honest & resilient• Capable of undertaking audits, developing, following-up & ensuring completion of action plans• Well-informed of the Mental Health Act & the latest nursing practices• Focused on patient recovery to monitor, manage & reduce risk.Why Cygnet?
