Job summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is recruiting for a Band 6 coordinator to support daily ward coordination, patient flow, and discharge activities within the Telford Elective Surgery Hub.

The role involves assisting the Department Manager, acting up to Band 7 in their absence, and ensuring staff are trained, standards maintained, and audits completed as part of the unit’s operations.

Qualifications

• Experience at NHS Band 6 level or equivalent.
• Experience coordinating ward operations and patient flow.
• Ability to supervise staff and manage training and audits.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dept Manager in the daily management of the department.
• Act up to the Band 7 in the absence of the Manager.
• Supervise day-to-day ward/department operations and motivate staff for efficient time/resource use.
• Organise the team on a daily basis and deploy staff according to skills and experience.
• Support and ensure all staff training is up to date.
