Job summary

Responsibilities

• Accountable for own actions in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct and for maintaining KPI delivery and governance within the ward.
• Provide high-quality leadership, ensuring timely management and resolution of events and staff bleep-holder responsibilities.
• Act as a knowledgeable team leader and resource for staff, advising on policy and procedures and embedding clinical governance.
• Identify and assess complex clinical and non-clinical issues, implement resolutions and monitor outcomes.
• Oversee staff education and training within the ward to meet service standards.
• Utilise information and IT systems to secure accurate patient, workforce and resource data.
• Support patients, carers and staff during difficult situations, including breaking bad news when required.
• Promote adherence to Health and Safety and Trust policies to protect staff and patients.
