Job summary

Cygnet Newham House, a 20-bed neuropsychiatric care facility, is seeking a friendly Ward Clerk. The role supports ward administration, ensures accurate information flow, and maintains up-to-date records within a busy hospital environment.

You will work full-time (40 hours per week) at Newham House and contribute to a clinically-led, evidence-based pathway for women with ABI. Great career development opportunities and employee benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Experienced in administration in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Organised, diligent & adheres to procedures.
• Knowledgeable of mental health & patient confidentiality issues.
• Skilled at inputting, pulling & analysing data using Microsoft Excel.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, etc.
• Excellent verbal & written communication with strong interpersonal skills.
• Able to solve problems quickly and work under pressure without compromising quality.
• DBS check is required for successful candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinical staff in ward administration.
• Ensure accurate recording & circulation of information.
• File all patient case notes & conduct regular audits to keep paperwork up to date.
• Complete ward filing in line with Cygnet policies.
• Answer telephone, cover reception & undertake other admin duties as required.
• Ensure reports are submitted on time & care plans are accurate & up to date.
• Liaise with medical secretaries to ensure timely submission of reports.
