Job summary

Cygnet Acer Clinic in Derbyshire is seeking a Ward Manager to lead the 28-bed unit for women with personality disorder and complex needs or acute mental health needs. The role is 40 hours per week at the Upper Ward, focusing on recovery-oriented, multidisciplinary care and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will oversee nursing practice, ensure patient rights and confidentiality, and drive audits and action plans, with DBS checks required.

Responsibilities

• Provide suggestions, proposals and recommendations to the Hospital Manager for ward development.
• Participate in planned ward visits by professional visitors.
• Initiate and maintain monitoring of professional nursing practice at unit level.
• Ensure service delivery evaluations are patient- and family-centred.
• Advise non-clinical staff on management of patients with mental illness.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and adherence to policies.
