Job summary

Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) is seeking a proactive Catering Services assistant for the Estates and Facilities area. The role focuses on ward-level food and beverage service to patients and strict cleanliness in food preparation areas, with responsibilities spanning service, stock, and hygiene management.

The position is part-time (20 hours per week) with a flexi rota, and includes a subsidised staff restaurant, generous annual leave, and NHS discounts.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning/hygiene COSHH procedures.
• Ability to undertake NVQ level 2 in food service; understands patient food service.
• Experience in a customer/patient focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Food and Beverage services to patients at ward level.
• Daily cleaning tasks in ward kitchens and on-site areas.
• Replenishment of disposables (soap, gel, towels) and waste removal.
• Coordinate with nurses, caterers and dieticians to meet nutrition and preferences.
• Adhere to food safety legislation and maintain cleanliness.
