Job summary

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts is seeking a Food Services Assistant to support ward based catering. You will help provide food and beverage services to patients, liaise with ward colleagues, and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness in food preparation areas.

Full training will be provided; previous food service experience is desirable. The role includes stock replenishment, using electronic ordering devices, and maintaining supplies while upholding safety and NHS values.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital food service is desirable

Responsibilities

• Provide Food and beverage services to patients at ward level
• Maintain high standards of cleaning in ward food preparation areas
• Assist with stock replenishment of disposables and supplies
• Operate hospital electronic ordering devices
• Coordinate with nurses and dieticians to meet nutritional needs
• Move food to wards following safety guidelines
• Prepare ward eating environments to support patient comfort
• Serve meals and offer second portions when needed
• Handle waste disposal from ward kitchens
