Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Ward Administrator/Housekeeper to support meal service delivery, ensuring dietary needs are communicated and discharge cleaning is completed to standard. You will check oxygen and suction units, manage linen stock, and report any faulty equipment to the trust helpdesk.

You will assist the nursing team, support Cardiac/Medical Day Stay reception duties when needed, answer calls, inform patients of collection times, and help with general ward

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths or equivalent required.
• Driving licence required.
• Experience in a public-facing role preferred.
• Experience in hospital setting is beneficial.
• Good communication and organisational skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Support meal service delivery to patients and communicate dietary requirements.
• Oversee discharge cleaning of patient spaces and maintain cleanliness standards.
• Check oxygen and suction units daily; ensure items are single-use and in good working order.
• Report faulty or defective equipment to the trust helpdesk.
• Assist with Cardiac and Medical Day Stay receptionist duties when required.
• Take phone calls and direct queries to appropriate staff; prepare admission notes.
