Job summary

CareTech is hiring Support Workers for Cedar Bungalows in Hothfield/Ashford, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. You will deliver person-centred support, help with daily living tasks, and promote independence in a caring environment.

You’ll work to individual plans, maintain records, and join a team on a rota that includes evenings, weekends and sleep-ins. Full-time permanent role with training provided.

Qualifications

• Clear communication with service users, families and colleagues.
• Ability to use basic IT and document accurately.
• DBS required to work with vulnerable groups.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans.
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required.
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
• Support activities, appointments, and community access.
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team.
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins.

About the Service – Cedar Bungalows

Cedar Bungalows in Hothfield specialises in adults with learning difficulties, autism and mental health. Currently Cedars Bungalow supports 4 service users, who enjoy its beautiful location and surroundings. Cedars boasts a large garden and each bungalow offers spacious rooms with lots of light. The service users enjoy days out such as horse carriage riding, the local community and they benefit from a fabulous team.

You will be working alone and as part of a team supporting people with various needs, such as Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, and Autistic Spectrum Disorders.

You will have a person-centred approach to supporting people with their day-to-day living in order to provide a caring, safe and effective service that is responsive to the needs of the people we support. This will include providing support with household tasks, meal planning and preparation, maintaining relationships with their family and friends and with accessing the community.

Service User Interests

The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:

Arts and crafts

Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.

Holidays and short breaks

Walks in the local park and community

Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

You will:

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we’ll provide full training and a structured induction programme.

Requirements

Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis

Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
