Job summary
CareTech Group in Bromsgrove is seeking a Waking Night Support Worker to join our King George Close service, supporting young people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. This permanent, full-time role is 35 hours per week on a rota, with a rate of £12.79 per hour.
We value resilient, compassionate individuals who can build positive relationships, remain calm under pressure and deliver high-quality, person-centred care. Training and progression opportunities available.
Qualifications
- Willingness to work towards a Health and Social Care qualification.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
- Commitment to safeguarding and person-centred practice.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred support in line with individual plans.
- Build trusting and professional relationships.
- Support individuals during periods of emotional distress.
- Follow Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans.
- Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required.
- Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
- Support with appointments, activities, and community access.
- Maintain accurate records and work effectively within a team.

This is not a traditional care role. We are seeking people who can build positive relationships, remain calm under pressure, and support individuals through some of the most challenging moments in their lives.
King George Close is a residential care home located in a quiet residential street. The service supports up to five young people with a range of mental health diagnoses, learning disabilities, and/or autistic spectrum conditions.
Our focus is on supporting individuals to develop independence and progress on their personal journey.

We actively support individuals to engage in meaningful activities, including:

- Days out (theme parks, meals, social activities, Christmas markets)

- Walks in the local community and parks
- Cooking and baking to build life skills
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred support in line with individual plans
- Build trusting and professional relationships
- Support individuals during periods of emotional distress
