Job summary

Rotherham Hospice is seeking an organised Volunteer Coordinator to lead the day-to-day coordination of volunteers across the Hospice in Rotherham. The role covers recruitment, onboarding, induction, placement, and ongoing support to ensure volunteers are matched, supported and valued, with safety and alignment to our mission.

You will work with managers to recruit diverse volunteers, maintain records, coordinate training, recognition and safe practices, and help develop volunteering policies and

Responsibilities

• Recruitment, onboarding and safer recruitment checks (DBS where appropriate)
• Maintain volunteer records in Volunteero
• Assist in matching volunteers to roles based on skills, availability and needs
• Coordinate volunteer agreements, induction, and training
• Be the first point of contact for volunteers and provide wellbeing support
• Escalate safeguarding or other issues as per Hospice procedures
• Develop training, progression and wider involvement opportunities
• Support positive endings and exit feedback with volunteers
• Maintain confidential volunteer records and generate reports to support planning and demonstrate impact
• Ensure safeguarding, confidentiality, data protection and health and safety compliance
• Develop links with local volunteer organisations and partners
• Contribute to policy and process improvements for the volunteer programme
• Promote an inclusive volunteering culture reflecting Hospice values
• Maintain and develop community links and partnerships
