Job summary

Rotherham Hospice in Rotherham is seeking a Healthcare Support Worker Manager to lead and support the Healthcare Support Worker team in a 24/7 service. The role focuses on delivering compassionate care, staff development, and operational leadership within either the Inpatient Unit or Hospice at Home service.

As a people manager, you will set expectations, conduct monthly one-to-one meetings, and manage attendance, performance and conduct in line with hospice policies, while ensuring high-quality

• Experience leading a team of Healthcare Support Workers.
• Ability to set clear expectations and conduct monthly one-to-one meetings.
• Experience in attendance, performance and conduct management.
• Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Healthcare Support Workers within the service.
• Allocate priorities with Nurse Manager and Head of Service.
• Ensure staff understand responsibilities and know how to seek help.
• Promote safe practice, infection control and documentation standards.
• Support local audits and quality improvement activities.
• Deliver regular feedback and development discussions with direct reports.
