Job summary

Data Careers Ltd is seeking a Voice & Network Engineer to configure, install, maintain and reconfigure voice and data networking infrastructure. You will support Cisco CUCM, Cisco UCCE, SIP and Microsoft Teams environments, troubleshoot incidents and assist with LAN/WAN planning.

You will work with a small, highly skilled technical team and participate in a 24-hour on-call rota as part of a dynamic on-call culture.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in Voice technologies with experience in Cisco CUCM, Cisco UCCE, SIP, voice networking/VoIP and Microsoft Teams
  • Strong Voice troubleshooting and fault-finding experience
  • Wider networking experience with LAN/WAN understanding
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds
  • Good understanding of network performance and connectivity
  • Desirable: Cisco LAN/WAN, firewalls, Cisco ISE, 802.1X/MAB, and related Cisco networking technologies
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues, users and third parties

Responsibilities

  • Configure, install, maintain and reconfigure network and voice hardware and software
  • Support and troubleshoot Cisco CUCM, Cisco UCCE, SIP and Microsoft Teams environments
  • Investigate, diagnose and resolve voice and network incidents within SLA tolerances
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity, performance and infrastructure issues
  • Support LAN/WAN planning, installation, upgrade, operation and maintenance
  • Carry out network surveys to establish connectivity and infrastructure needs
  • Use network management and monitoring tools to investigate issues and monitor performance
  • Use SolarWinds to collect load and performance statistics and produce reports
  • Maintain accurate configuration and asset records after hardware and software changes
  • Carry out backup and restoration activities as required
  • Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers and third parties to resolve technical issues
  • Provide first-line technical support for escalated incidents
  • Identify opportunities to improve network and voice infrastructure
  • Assist with complex problems with experienced colleagues or external specialists

Job description

Salary: £43,000 - 83,000 per year

Requirements
  • Strong background in Voice technologies with experience in Cisco CUCM, Cisco UCCE, SIP, voice networking/VoIP and Microsoft Teams

  • Willingness to participate in a 24-hour on-call and out-of-hours rota, typically one week in four

  • Carry out defined system backup and restoration activities where required
  • Work with internal teams, users, suppliers and third parties to investigate and resolve technical issues
  • Support escalated incidents and provide first-level technical support where required
  • Identify opportunities to make better use of existing network and voice infrastructure
  • Assist with more complex technical problems, working with experienced colleagues and external specialists where necessary
