Salary: £78,000 - 78,000 per year
Requirements:- Previously worked as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.
- Valid DV clearance.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing and switching, VLANs, DNS and DHCP, and network troubleshooting methodologies.
- Background in supporting enterprise network environments.
- Familiarity with one or more networking technologies or vendors, such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, HPE or Fortinet.
- Understanding of network security principles and good practice.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, or MPLS, firewall technologies and VPN solutions.
- Understanding of wireless networking technologies.
- Background with virtualisation platforms such as VMware ESXi, Hyper‑V, KVM, or Proxmox.
- Knowledge of cloud networking concepts across AWS, Azure or hybrid environments.
- Familiarity with network automation tools such as Ansible, Python, Terraform or similar technologies.
- Experience working with network monitoring and management platforms such as SolarWinds, Zabbix, PRTG, LibreNMS or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN) and modern data centre networking technologies.
Responsibilities:- Supporting network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, access controls and secure connectivity.
- Keeping network diagrams, technical documentation and operational procedures up to date.
- Contributing to capacity planning, performance improvements and network resilience.
- Supporting virtualised and software-defined networking environments.
- Assisting with automation and Infrastructure as Code activities where appropriate.
- For more experienced engineers, taking ownership of technical workstreams, supporting junior colleagues and contributing to network design decisions.
- Travelling to company premises or other locations when required.
- Keeping technical knowledge up to date through relevant training and professional development.
