Job summary

Vets for Pets is seeking a friendly, compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our front‑of‑house team on a part‑time maternity cover. This is an in‑person role at our busy veterinary practice, offering the chance to work closely with clients and their pets.

The successful candidate will greet clients, manage appointments, handle calls and emails, process payments, and support the veterinary team with administration, providing reassurance and empathy during every visit.

We're looking for a friendly, compassionate, and professional Veterinary Receptionist to join our wonderful front‑of‑house team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with both people and pets and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service. As the first point of contact for our clients, you'll play a key role in creating a warm, welcoming experience while supporting the smooth day‑to‑day running of our busy veterinary practice.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Greeting clients and their pets with a friendly and professional approach
• Managing appointments and diary scheduling
• Handling telephone and email enquiries
• Processing payments and maintaining accurate client records
• Supporting the veterinary team with administrative tasks
• Providing reassurance and empathy to pet owners during both routine and challenging visits

Position Details

• Hours: from 17 hours per week
• Contract: Fixed-term maternity cover
• Saturday mornings: 9:00am-12:30pm on a rota basis (currently 1 in 5)
