Job summary

inspiring vet care in the UK is seeking an organised, friendly Receptionist to join our Lockwood Vets team on a part-time fixed-term basis covering 6 months. You’ll be the first point of contact for clients, managing appointments and ensuring a welcoming, professional experience.

This 30-hour week over 5 days includes a mix of morning and late shifts with some weekend rota. You’ll also handle check-ins, payments, records, and basic client communications to support a smooth patient journey.

We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Lockwood Vets on a part-time fixed-term basis covering 6 months.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.

You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

Working Pattern

This is a part‑time role working 30 hours over 5 days per week, even share of morning and late shifts. fair share of weekend rota.

Key Responsibilities

As an integral part of our practice team, you will be responsible for:

• Taking phone calls, answering queries and booking appointments
• Greeting clients and their pets on arrival
• Check‑in patients and verify their information
• Update patient records and ensure attention to detail
• Process payments and maintain accurate financial records
• Dispensing medication
• Maintain the cleanliness of the reception area and consult rooms
• Administration duties such as emails and signing up clients to our Pet Health Plan
