CVS Vets Walkden is seeking a Veterinary Patient Care Assistant to join our Memorial Road practice. You will support RVNs and Vets, provide nursing care, assist with animal restraint, and help care for our animal patients in a busy clinical environment.

This permanent, full-time role offers 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00–20:00 shifts. Experience in animal care and handling is essential, and a strong team ethic is valued as we put pets first.

• Experience in animal welfare, including feeding, cleaning and handling

Responsabilités

• Provide nursing care to our patients
• Assist Vets and Nurses with animal restraint
• Walk, feed, and clean patients
• Prepare emergency and operating facilities
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance
• Run internal lab samples
• Answer emergency calls
• Support the reception team as needed (booking appointments, processing payments)

Role Details:

Location: Memorial Road, Walkden, Manchester, M28 3DS

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday, working between the hours of 08.00 – 20.00

Salary: Will be paid at the National Minimum Wage

Must Haves: Animal care and handling experience

About the role:

The Patient Care Assistant position is crucial in any veterinary practice. You'll support our skilled RVN's and Vets in providing exceptional care to our animal patients.

Your responsibilities will include:

Who We're Looking For:

• Skilled in customer service and public interaction
• Resilience and the ability to handle emotional situations with kindness and professionalism
• Strong communication skills paired with genuine empathy
• Experienced in animal welfare, including feeding, cleaning, and handling – this is essential!
• Resilient and capable of handling emotional situations
• Positive and a team player
• Preferably have experience in a veterinary environment
