Job summary

Vets Now is seeking a Weekend Veterinary Nurse for our Derby clinic. The role offers a chance to work Saturdays and Sundays with potential additional bank holidays, supporting ECC cases and in-clinic care.

Qualifications

• RCVS registration for a minimum of six months.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
• Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• First Aid – give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
• Critical Care – manage and monitor major body systems, in‑patient trends, and pain assessment.
• Diagnostics – confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Working hours:

We have the following hours available in our Derby clinic, please contact me directly to discuss options and working patterns that would work for you:

Week 1: Saturday from 12:00 to 18:30 and Sunday from 08:30 to 18:30

Week 2: Saturday from 12:00 to 18:30 and Sunday from 08:30 to 18:30

Week 3: Saturday from 12:00 to 18:30 and Sunday from 08:30 to 18:30

Week 4: Saturday from 12:00 to 18:30

Week 5: Saturday from 12:00 to 18:30 and Sunday from 08:30 to 18:30

Week 6: Off

Week 7: Saturday from 12:00 to 18:30 and Sunday from 08:30 to 18:30

Week 8: Saturday from 12:00 to 18:30 and Sunday from 08:30 to 18:30

Plus, a fair share of bank holidays.

Understanding your key role

Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in‑patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

• First Aid – give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
