Job summary

Vets Now is seeking a Weekend Veterinary Nurse for their Stoke clinic. This role is ideal for those wanting to further their ECC knowledge and balance family commitments. Responsibilities include critical care, diagnostics, and First Aid.

  • Perform basic diagnostic procedures confidently.

Weekend Veterinary Nurse – Stoke

Up to £17ph DOE plus benefits

Working hours:

We have the following weekend hours available in our Stoke clinic, please contact me directly to discuss specific working patterns that would work for you:

  • 2:4 weekends working Saturday and Sunday from 18:00 to 09:00
  • 1:4 weekends working Saturday from 12:00 to 18:30 and Sunday from 08:30 to 18:30
  • 2:4 Sunday’s working from 09:00 to 19:00

Plus, a fair share of bank holidays.

Understanding your key role

Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in‑patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

  • First Aid – give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
  • Critical Care – management and monitoring of major body systems, monitoring of in‑patient trends and identifying changes quickly, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care.
  • Diagnostics – confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.
Key requirements
  • RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
  • Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
  • Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.
  • Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
