Job summary

AECOM is actively seeking a Vertical Transportation Engineer to join our expanding Vertical Transportation team. You will design, develop and review drawings for modernisation, new installations and maintenance across elevators, escalators and moving walkways.

The role involves adapting design features to meet diverse situations, working within Buildings & Places to deliver iconic structures, and collaborating with engineers and clients. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

Ideally NVQ4, HNC or equivalent, Lift or appropriate engineering qualification.
Extensive vertical transportation experience and preferably come from a lift contracting or consulting background.
Advanced knowledge and experience in utilizing design software including passenger traffic analysis software (ELEVATE), CAD, BIM, Revit, Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

Develop vertical transportation design concepts, calculate lift numbers, sizes and speeds for buildings.
Undertaking lift traffic analysis, ideally utilising Elevate.
Produce reports at key RIBA stages (conceptual, scheme, etc.).
Oversee production of drawings and specifications for VT projects.
Provide VT engineering expertise on single and multi-disciplinary projects & coordination.
Inspect installations and witness testing on site.
Support the wider VT team activities.
Undertake site surveys and produce reports.
Attend design team and client meetings as required.
Follow the Safety, Health, and Environment Policy.
