Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Vertical Transportation Engineer to join our expanding VT team in London. You will design, develop and review lift systems for new installations and modernisation, adapting designs to project needs and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities include concept development, traffic analysis, report writing, drawings production and site inspections. The role offers a flexible hybrid work model and opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

• NVQ4 / HNC or equivalent in lift or engineering field.
• Extensive vertical transport experience in lift contracting or consulting.
• Strong analytical engineering knowledge.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience with passenger traffic analysis software (Elevate) and BIM tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop vertical transportation design concepts and lift sizing.
• Undertake lift traffic analysis, ideally using Elevate.
• Produce reports at key design stages (RIBA) and review drawings.
• Oversee production of VT drawings and specifications.
• Provide VT expertise on multidisciplinary projects and coordination.
• Inspect installations and witness on-site testing.
• Support the wider Vertical Transportation team activities.
• Carry out site surveys and prepare reports.
• Attend design team and client meetings as required.
• Adhere to the company safety, health and environment policy.
