Job summary

Balfour Beatty is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside project, based at Redcar and Cleveland or across Maxim, Newcastle or Warrington offices. You will deliver ventilation design solutions and manage procurement of ventilation packages to meet project requirements.

The role requires proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, plus OpenBuildings designer or similar HVAC tools, with focus on collaboration and clear communication across internal teams and external

Qualifications

• Proficient with 3-D solid modelling software (Revit) and 2-D drawings (AutoCAD).
• Ability to perform heating, ventilation, air conditioning calculations and fluid flow analyses.
• Experience with OpenBuildings designer (or Hevacomp) or similar HVAC tools.

Responsibilities

• Create mechanical ventilation design deliverables for low and high integrity ductwork systems.
• Input to process, heat exchanger, treatment plant and prime mover specs and design.
• Review vendor documentation for mechanical compliance with project specifications.
• Develop design risk assessments and communicate residual risks.
