Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer for the NZT project based at Redcar and Cleveland, or across Maxim, Newcastle or Warrington offices. You will design ventilation solutions and manage procurement of ventilation packages to meet project requirements.

Responsibilities include delivering ductwork designs, supporting specifications for process equipment, and validating vendor documents.

Qualifications

3-D solid modelling with Revit and 2-D drawing with AutoCAD.
Perform heating, ventilation and air conditioning calculations and fluid flow analyses.
OpenBuildings designer (Hevacomp) or similar HVAC software.
Collaborate with engineers and project teams to deliver cost-effective engineering solutions.
Clear, effective written and verbal communication; good IT skills and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Create mechanical ventilation design deliverables for low and high integrity ductwork systems.
Contribute to process, heat exchanger, treatment plant and prime mover specifications and design.
Review vendor documentation for mechanical compliance with project specifications.
Assess design risks and prepare design risk assessments; communicate residual risks.
Provide technical support and develop robust, innovative solutions.
Maintain relationships with technical consultants and suppliers; stay at industry forefront.
