Job summary

Hawk Hiring LTD seeks a skilled Vehicle Technician or Car Mechanic for an established independent service center in Mansfield. You will handle diverse makes/models with a focus on quality repairs, diagnostics, and practical problem-solving.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent time-served garage background.
Strong hands-on background as an Auto Technician, Vehicle Mechanic, or Workshop Specialist.
MOT Smart Card / DVSA MOT Tester Licence is a major bonus, but not mandatory.
Mindset: dependable, detail-oriented, right-first-time fixes.
Full UK Driving Licence is required.

Responsibilities

Perform heavy mechanical repairs including timing belts/chains, clutch kits, engine overhauls, suspensions and gearbox replacements.
Utilise multi-brand diagnostic scan tools to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults.
Carry out servicing, safety inspections, brake setups and pre-MOT health checks.
Maintain clean job sheets and communicate timelines with front desk.
Keep the working bay clean and follow workshop health and safety guidelines.
