Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking a Mechanical Technician/Vehicle Technician for a shift-based role at its Kettering site. You will respond to breakdowns on production machinery, diagnose faults, and perform repairs to quickly restore operations.

Training will progress you toward a Maintenance Engineer level within a state-of-the-art plant. The role requires hands-on mechanical experience, strong fault-finding skills, and a good understanding of health and safety in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical experience in engineering environments.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Respond to mechanical breakdowns across the site.
• Diagnose faults and identify root causes.
• Carry out reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Repair/replace mechanical components as required.
• Fault find on motors, gearboxes, conveyors and pumps.
• Perform basic adjustments and modifications.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow safety standards.
