Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking an Engineering Technician to join a highly automated warehouse operation in Worksop. This hands-on role responds to faults, carries out planned maintenance and helps keep automated systems operating safely and efficiently.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical and automation faults, work with engineering teams, maintain records and support continuous improvement while following Health & Safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience with machinery, maintenance, electrical equipment or automation.
• Level 2 engineering qualification or significant relevant experience.
• Understanding of planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
• Willingness to work at height.
• Ability to climb a 30-metre ladder with training.
• Good organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Understanding Health & Safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Respond to reactive faults and breakdowns across the automated warehouse.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and equipment servicing.
• Diagnose, investigate and rectify mechanical, electrical and automation faults.
• Escalate unresolved or recurring issues to engineering teams or external support.
• Monitor equipment performance and minimise downtime.
• Work with site colleagues and customer engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
• Carry out repairs following manufacturer recommendations and industry standards.
• Maintain records and follow engineering procedures.
• Support continuous improvement and high automation standards.
• Follow Health & Safety, quality and site procedures.
• Work independently while contributing as part of the wider team.
