Job summary

NXT Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician in Carlisle on a permanent, full‑time basis. The role covers servicing, routine maintenance, repairs and diagnostics across a range of vehicles.

You will work Monday to Friday with no weekend or bank holidays, using your diagnostic skills to identify faults, and you’ll be part of a small, professional workshop that values quality workmanship and a proactive mindset.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician
• Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair preferred
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Good mechanical knowledge across servicing, maintenance and repairs
• Confidence working independently and using your own initiative
• Your own tools
• A strong attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
• A reliable and professional approach
• A positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in
• The ability to work well as part of a small, professional team

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs
• Diagnosing and investigating vehicle faults
• Using diagnostic equipment to identify electrical and mechanical issues
• Carrying out inspections and identifying any additional work required
• Completing repairs efficiently and to a high standard
• Following manufacturer and workshop procedures
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and accurately
• Maintaining a clean and organised working environment
• Providing support to the wider workshop team when required
