Job summary

Streamline Search Ltd. in Midhurst is seeking a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to service, maintain and repair a range of vehicles within a busy independent workshop.

You will diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, carry out brakes, suspension, exhaust work, tyres and timing belts, and prepare vehicles for sale or handover. A full UK driving licence and NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 are required; MOT class 4 is a bonus.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Experience as Vehicle Technician or Mechanic is required.

Vehicle Technician / Mechanic required

Our client is a well-established independent garage since 1947 based in Midhurst with an excellent reputation for providing high-quality vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repair services. They are now seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join their busy and professional workshop team.

Vehicle Technician / Mechanic - Position Overview

• Servicing, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of vehicle makes and models
• Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults
• Carrying out repairs to brakes, suspension, exhaust systems, tyres, clutches, and timing belts
• Conducting vehicle inspections and diagnostic testing
• Preparing vehicles for sale and customer handover
• Diagnosing engine, transmission, and drivability issues
• Completing work efficiently whilst maintaining high standards of workmanship
• Working closely with colleagues to ensure smooth workshop operations
• Providing excellent customer service when required

Vehicle Technician / Mechanic - Position Requirements

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3, or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work independently and hit the ground running
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Good communication and organisational skills
• MOT Class 4 Tester licence would be advantageous
• EV qualifications or training would be beneficial but not essential
• Experience working on a variety of vehicle makes and models

Vehicle Technician / Mechanic - Position Remuneration

Salary £32,000-£35,000 basic (depending on experience) £47,000 OTE (Overtime and efficiency bonus)

Hours

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, with flexible start times of either 8:00am-5:00pm or 8:30am-5:30pm.
