Job summary

Hawk Hiring LTD in the Derby area is looking for a versatile Vehicle Technician / Workshop Mechanic to join our friendly workshop team. You will perform routine servicing, safety inspections, pre-MOT health checks, and core mechanical repairs on a variety of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.

The role requires NVQ/IMI Level 3, hands-on experience with different makes/models, and a full UK driving licence with your own tools.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair is required or equivalent time-served background.
• Hands-on experience with a wide mix of makes, models and light commercial vehicles.
• DVSA MOT Smart Card preferred (not essential).
• Full UK driving licence and own hand tools are essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and safety inspections to high industry standards.
• Perform pre-MOT health checks and core mechanical repairs.
• Diagnose faults across a range of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.
• Work as part of a team to maintain workshop efficiency and quality.

Pay & Benefits

• Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 basic per annum (DOE) + team performance bonus
• Hours: Monday to Friday schedule + Saturdays operated on a fair team rota basis

Role Overview

Seeking a versatile Vehicle Technician / Workshop Mechanic to join our friendly workshop crew. Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent time-served garage background).
• Hands-on experience working on a wide mix of makes, models, and light commercial vehicles.
• Valid DVSA MOT Smart Card is preferred (commands a higher starting salary), but not essential.
• Full UK driving licence & own hand tools.
