Job summary

Wessex Garages is seeking a Vehicle Technician at our Bristol Kia site, with a brand-new flagship workshop planned for Cribbs Causeway in Autumn 2026. The role includes full manufacturer training and ongoing support to advance your technical career.

You will service, diagnose, and repair a range of vehicles, stay updated with brand standards, and help maintain high customer satisfaction in a state-of-the-art facility. Training and career development are a key focus.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence (max 6 points)
• Level 3 City & Guilds or NVQ in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• Previous experience in a main dealer workshop is preferred but not essential

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of vehicles to high standards
• Diagnose and resolve issues, including non-routine defects, in workshop or on road tests
• Continually develop technical knowledge and stay up to date with brand standards
• Utilise workshop facilities and processes to maximise productivity
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to customer satisfaction
• Maintain industry-leading workshop performance standards
• Participate in regular training sessions to enhance skills

We’re looking for motivated individuals who are eager to develop their skills and contribute to the continued success of our aftersales team.

This role is currently based at our Bristol Feeder Road Kia dealership; however, in Autumn 2026 we will be relocating to our brand-new Kia flagship site at Cribbs Causeway. As part of this move, the successful candidate will join a state-of-the-art, purpose‑built workshop featuring the latest equipment, technology, and facilities, providing an excellent environment to develop your skills and career with Wessex Garages.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of vehicles to the highest standards
• Diagnosing and resolving issues, including non‑routine defects, both in the workshop and during road tests
• Continuously developing your technical knowledge and staying up to date with brand standards
• Making the most of our facilities and processes to maximise productivity
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the full satisfaction of our customers
• Helping us maintain industry‑leading standards in workshop performance
• Taking part in regular training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge

What We’re Looking For

• A full manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
• Level 3 City & Guilds or NVQ in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• Previous experience in a main dealer workshop is preferred but not essential

Key information

• Working Pattern: 8:30am – 5:00pm Mon – Fri. 8:30am - 12:30pm Saturdays on a rota
• Salary: Competitive
