Job summary

Wessex Garages in Newport, UK, is seeking a Vehicle Technician to join our modern, well-equipped workshop. You will deliver servicing, maintenance and repairs to a range of vehicles, using the latest tools and following manufacturer standards.

The role offers full manufacturer training, opportunities to improve diagnostic skills, and a structured career path within our growing Aftersales team. A full UK driver’s licence is required, with up to 6 points, and prior main dealer experience is

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence with up to 6 points (required).
• Level 3 City & Guilds or NVQ in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair required.
• Previous experience in a main dealer workshop is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of vehicles to the highest standards.
• Diagnosing and resolving issues, including non-routine defects, in workshop and during road tests.
• Continuously developing technical knowledge and staying up to date with brand standards.
• Maximising productivity by using facilities and processes efficiently.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to customer satisfaction.
• Maintaining industry-leading workshop performance and participating in training sessions.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of vehicles to the highest standards
• Diagnosing and resolving issues, including non-routine defects, both in the workshop and during road tests
• Continuously developing your technical knowledge and staying up to date with brand standards
• Making the most of our facilities and processes to maximise productivity
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the full satisfaction of our customers
• Helping us maintain industry-leading standards in workshop performance
• Taking part in regular training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge

What We’re Looking For

• A full manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
• Level 3 City & Guilds or NVQ in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• Previous experience in a main dealer workshop is preferred but not essential

Key information

• Working Pattern: 8:30am – 5:00pm Mon – Fri. Saturdays on a rota paid as OT
• Salary: Competitive plus bonus
