Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Leeds is recruiting a Level 3 qualified Vehicle Technician for a permanent role in our busy workshop. You will diagnose, maintain and repair a range of vehicles, using your own toolkit and the workshop’s specialist equipment. There is potential to earn up to £75k including overtime.

Qualifications

• Qualified mechanic to Level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience on a wide range of vehicles including vans and trucks.
• Valid UK manual driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform full inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on vehicles, trailers and equipment.
• Use your personal toolkit for routine maintenance and repair of light goods vehicles.
• Access specialist tooling and shared equipment in modern workshops.

Are you looking for stability and variety in your next move? Join the largest, and greenest, fleet operator in the UK and take on a new challenge in a commercial vehicle workshop environment.

We're recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic at Leeds Workshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £75k including overtime.

Working Hours

• Week 1 - 06:00 - 15:00 Wednesday to Sunday
• Week 2 - 06:00 - 15:00 Monday to Friday
• Week 3 - 13:00 - 22:00 Monday to Friday
• Week 4 - 06:00 - 15:00 Monday to Wednesday and 06:00 until 15:00 Saturday and Sunday
• Week 5 - 06:00 - 15:00 Monday to Thursday and 06:00 until 10:00 Friday
• Week 6 - 21:30 - 06:00 Monday to Thursday

Whilst there is some flexibility in relation to non-working days, these must be agreed with the workshop manager at the point of appointment and will be subject to operational requirements.

• Salary: £40,906 plus a night shift allowance of £135.32 per week when working the 21:30 - 06:00 shift and a shift allowance of £90.21 per week when working 13:00 - 22:00 shift.

Responsibilities

• You’ll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
• You’ll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light goods vehicles.
• You’ll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.

A bit about you

• Qualified mechanic: you’re fully qualified to an advanced level (Level 3 in Light vehicle or equivalent). You’ve got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV.
• Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence.
• High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: you’re able to work on a flexible shift rota. You’re always willing to support your team where necessary.
