Job summary

Halfords is looking for a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to join our Autocentres. You will service and repair vehicles, performing tasks from clutches to timing belts and diagnostics, with opportunities to gain ATA & MOT tester qualifications.

We offer a base salary of £32,000–£35,000, uncapped monthly bonus averaging £6,700 per year, and on-target earnings up to £42,700. Benefits include up to 5.6 weeks leave, store discounts and a strong career path.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair/replacement work.
• Carry out diagnostics and more complex repairs (clutches, timing belts, electrical) as needed.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You'll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.
