Job summary

Halfords Group PLC in the UK is hiring a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to service and repair vehicles, including complex tasks such as clutches, timing belts and diagnostics. You will work in our Autocentres team and progress through hybrid training and ATA/MOT qualifications.

You should have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience and a full driving licence with up to 9 points.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to diagnose brakes, steering/suspension, engine and perform complex repairs.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair work on vehicles to manufacturer standards.
• Carry out diagnostics and complex repairs including clutches and timing belt replacements.
• Work on electrics, brakes, steering and suspension systems.
• Progress career with hybrid training and ATA/MOT qualifications.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
