Job summary

HP4 RECRUITMENT LTD is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to service and repair vans and light commercial vehicles in Cardiff. The role offers a full-time, permanent contract with a structured Monday–Friday schedule and optional overtime.

You will diagnose faults, perform MOT prep, and ensure work meets manufacturer standards, contributing to fleet reliability. Ideal candidates hold Level 3 qualifications, have relevant experience with vans, and possess a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (preferred).
• Proven experience as Vehicle Technician / Mechanic / LCV Technician.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Experience working on vans or commercial vehicles (highly desirable).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of vans and light commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose faults using the latest diagnostic equipment.
• Complete MOT preparation and general inspections.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard in line with manufacturer guidelines.
• Accurately complete job cards, service records, and compliance paperwork.
• Work efficiently to meet productivity and workshop targets.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.

Salary: £37,639 Basic Salary (£43,639 OTE)

About the Role

Our client is one of the UKs leading vehicle hire and fleet management businesses, and they are currently looking for skilled Vehicle Technicians to join their growing team across multiple sites nationwide.

This role will focus primarily on the maintenance, servicing, and repair of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and vans , ensuring fleet reliability and safety for a wide customer base.
