Job summary

Allen Motor Group in Brentwood is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join a supportive team. You will service and repair vehicles, perform diagnostics, and uphold high standards of workmanship and safety.

The role reports to the Aftersales Manager and is a full-time position with 45 hours weekly, including some Saturdays as overtime. Eligible to participate in a bonus scheme and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Relevant formal qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3) required.
• A full UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience inspecting, repairing and servicing motor vehicles.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle servicing and repairs to a high standard.
• Perform diagnostic work and vehicle health checks.
• Deliver excellent technical and diagnostic services while meeting targets.
• Keep knowledge up to date with required manufacturer training.
• Maintain compliance with manufacturer guidelines and quality standards.

This is a full-time position working 45 hours per week Monday - Friday (with 1 in 2 Saturdays as overtime), reporting directly to the Aftersales Manager.

What will you be doing?

As a Vehicle Technician, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our customers safely on the road and ensuring every vehicle receives the highest standard of care.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Carrying out vehicle servicing, repairs, technical inspections and diagnostic work to a high standard.
• Delivering excellent technical and diagnostic services while meeting and exceeding customer satisfaction and productivity targets.
• Keeping your technical knowledge up to date and completing all required manufacturer training.
• Maintaining compliance with manufacturer guidelines and company quality standards.
• Completing vehicle health checks accurately and ensuring 100% compliance with our vehicle health check processes.
• Taking pride in your workmanship and helping deliver an exceptional customer experience every time.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with a positive attitude, a commitment to quality and a genuine passion for the automotive industry.

To Be Successful In This Role, You’ll Need

• A relevant formal qualification, City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 as a minimum.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Experience inspecting, repairing and servicing motor vehicles.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and customer service.

An MOT Tester qualification would be a great advantage, and previous experience working within a franchised dealership would be beneficial, although it isn’t essential.
