Job summary

HP4 Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician (Vans) in Croydon to maintain and repair light commercial vehicles across a busy fleet. The role focuses on servicing, diagnostics, and ensuring high standards in line with manufacturer guidelines.

You'll work Monday to Friday with optional overtime, receive a competitive basic salary (£38,760) with OTE (£44,760), and have opportunities for training, career progression, and long-term stability within a national business.

Qualifications

• NVQ/City & Guilds in vehicle maintenance preferred.
• Proven experience as a vehicle technician or LCV technician.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Experience working on vans or light commercial vehicles is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on vans/LCVs.
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Prepare MOT and perform general inspections.
• Ensure work meets manufacturer guidelines and quality standards.
• Complete job cards and service records accurately.

About the Role

Our client is one of the UKs leading vehicle hire and fleet management businesses, and they are currently looking for skilledVehicle Techniciansto join their growing team across multiple sites nationwide.

This role will focus primarily on the maintenance, servicing, and repair oflight commercial vehicles (LCVs) and vans, ensuring fleet reliability and safety for a wide customer base.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of vans and light commercial vehicles
• Diagnose faults using the latest diagnostic equipment
• Complete MOT preparation and general inspections
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard in line with manufacturer guidelines
• Accurately complete job cards, service records, and compliance paperwork
• Work efficiently to meet productivity and workshop targets
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment

Requirements

• Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (preferred)
• Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic / LCV Technician
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Experience working on vans or commercial vehicles (highly desirable)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
