Job summary

Octane Recruitment's client is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician (Level 3) with a full UK driving license and 4+ years in an independent or main dealer background. This is a great step up in their career, based in Nelson and working a Monday to Friday, 40-hour week with Saturday mornings on a rota.

The role focuses on servicing and maintenance, fault diagnosis across electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems, and may include MOT duties for the qualified candidate.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience as a Vehicle Technician in a main dealer or independent workshop.
• Full UK driving license is essential.
• Level 3 mechanical engineering qualifications preferred; Level 2 considered with strong experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and maintenance of all vehicles.
• Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fault diagnosis and repair; warranty work as per brand parameters.
• MOT testing duties if qualified.

Vehicle Technician - Nelson

Salary - Up to £45,800 Basic + £3,000 sign on bonus + Efficiency Bonus + Overtime DOE & Qualifications

Days- Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, Saturday mornings on a rota

Vehicle Technician Role:

• Carry out servicing and maintenance of all vehicles
• Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fault diagnosis and repair, this work may include warranty approved work in line with our brand parameters
• Department of Transport (MOT) testing duties (if qualified)

Vehicle Technician Requirements:

• Full UK driving license
• NVQ, IMI, Mechanical Engineering, City & Guilds level 3 ideally but we will also consider level 2 with a lot of experience (If you're a level 2 Vehicle Technician with main dealership experience then definitely apply!)
• MOT license is beneficial but not essential
